The Consultant and Trainer Advisory Group held its annual event on April 1, 2009. The theme for this year’s event was “Pennsylvania’s Expertise: Taking it to the Next Level”. The goal of the event was to provide an opportunity for Consultants and Trainers to build upon their existing knowledge and strengths, learn new ideas and strategies, as well as provide networking opportunities. We had approximately 50 Consultants and Trainers attend the event from around the state.
The morning keynote speaker was Kathleen Holt Whyte who spoke about five strategies
for moving forward both professionally and personally. The five strategies were: reconnecting to your purpose and your passion; clarify what Peak Performance means for you; surround yourself with dream supporters; create space to flourish; and amplify your efforts. Kathleen also presented a workshop in the morning on how to ramp up your training.
The other morning workshops included a two part consulting workshop that discussed sharing methodologies, experiences, and unique county situations and how to incorporate strength-based, solution- focused practice into your training.
In the afternoon there was an awards presentation for our Consultants and Trainers. The Training Program asked our County Children and Youth Agencies to submit nominations for various awards. Many nominations were received as well as summaries submitted by Children and Youth workers explaining why they felt this individual should be acknowledged
