This workshop introduces new Child Welfare Professionals to the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Practice framework. This workshop focuses on the following:
- The casework process;
- The Child Family Service Review outcome mandates;
- Professional ethics in decision-making;
- The four phases of the Interactional Helping Skills model; and
- Strength-based and solution-focused casework.
This workshop and its skill-building activities aim to provide an understanding of casework tasks, performed sequentially and concurrently during the life of a case, from receiving a child abuse and neglect complaint and referral through case closure. This understanding is critical to recognizing the importance of the Child Welfare Professionals’ role in achieving timely safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes at each stage of the casework process when assisting children, youth, and families in Pennsylvania. This workshop is eligible for 3 Continuing Education Credit Hours (CEU) for LSW, LCSW, LPC, and LMFT.
